Lucien Bourjeily assumed leading roles in Mounir Abou Debs' experimental plays The Dragon and Night Signs which were based on Debs' renowned avant guardist style in performance.
These plays initiated Bourjeily's first leading roles and were the start of many collaborations between Bourjeily and the lebanese theatrical pioneer Mounir Abou Debs.




Oedipus Rex 1999


Debut acting part
at the International Beiteddine Festival 1999
In 1999's edition of the International Beiteddine Festival, Bourjeily took on his debut part in Mounir Abou Debs' adaptation of Sophocles' Oedipux Rex after joining the legendary Modern Theater Troupe. The play was a success and received national acclaim and was the start of Bourjeily's career in theater.
